MMORPG means Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

These games are indeed just giant worlds were thousands of people online can play simultaneously. The setting is typically a fantasy world that consists of magic and dragons and the like, but there have been prosperous worlds that take place in space, in the future, and even in the Star Wars genre. The notion behind the game is that you construct a character in this world that is very strong in some skill, be it a trader, a medic, a fighter, a thief, or maybe a magic user; and set out to make a name for yourself.

Xbox 360 MMORPGS

An example of xbox game is Final Fantasy XI Online, developed and published by Square.

In April 2006, an Xbox 360 version was released worldwide.

What is the goal of MMORPGS

Players will many times start out without knowing anyone in the world. They will play through some introductory tutorials that will both establish the various play elements, as well as encircle the player with other players in the same scenario. Beginning players will sometimes group up together to take on similar quests or tasks and in the process, create friendships. These players can then pursue each others’ friendship out in the future, to continue on other ventures.

At this point you might be thinking, “Well, what’s the goal? Does the game end?” And that is where the angle of the MMORPG is: there isn’t an ending. Players will continually strive to enhance their skills in the game, be it by working on certain skills, or through gaining experience in the world to gain levels, thus growing stronger. Growing stronger then permits players access into more difficult areas, which has more desired items, which allows the player to then upgrade their character. This cycle repeats itself several times over in the life of a player’s career in an MMORPG and it’s up to the certain games to make that process both rewarding and fun.

Human interactions

However, the true catch to these games isn’t necessarily in character power, but instead, in the actual human interaction between players. Keep in mind, lots of the characters you will discover in these worlds are living human beings just like you and thus obligations can be made. You may regularly find yourself grouping with people who have matching interests and creating real-life friendships through the game. The legends you are able to tell based on your journeys are often epic in scale and usually are pretty memorable. And it is the human element of the MMORPG that distinguishes it from the single player alternative. Being able to have an impact on another person by setting slaves free with the help of a complete stranger, taking down a dragon with a group of your friends, or saving their life are all things that have an indelible impression on everyone involved.

So the next time you hear people talking about worlds or missions they were on, take a listen not only to what they’re trying to say, but listen also to their excitement about it. The ordeals in these worlds are very real and that is what makes all the difference.

Along with the release of Xbox 360 came Microsoft’s online gaming service which is the Xbox 360 Live.

This online gaming service had undergone an upgrade thereby shutting it down for 24 hours. Players have two types of subscriptions to choose from, the Silver and Gold subscriptions.

An Xbox Silver subscription is free of charge and offers the same features and SKU of an Xbox. It also allows players to create their own user profile. An Xbox LIVE Gold account has an annual fee of US$ 49.99. Players who go to the Xbox Live enabled profile need to enter their passport account information and the last 4 digits of their credit card numbers for verification purposes and for billing as well.

Xbox Live allows players to maintain their profile account information and friends list when making a shift to the Gold subscription. The major difference between the two subscriptions is that the Silver subscription does not support multi-player gaming and furthermore, the gamertag of a player with a Silver subscription has a silver trim, rather than gold. This creates a distinction among players online.
